Software updates

Servers: SH1, SH2, PH1
We will be performing various software updates on all of our shared hosting servers, starting at midday GMT on January 5, 2009. We are allowing until 22:00 GMT for all work to be completed. Server downtime will be minimal, however services will be unavailable for brief periods.
We will post updates here when work commences.

Today's software updates are now commencing. We need to begin by rebooting all three servers, which we will do one at a time. Each server will experience approximately 10 minutes of downtime during the next half hour.

All servers have now been rebooted, and we are proceeding to update cPanel, the Apache web server, and related software.

cPanel, Apache, PHP, etc. have all been updated. MySQL will be unavailable for a few minutes on SH1 and SH2 while we perform some maintenance – PH1 is not affected.

MySQL is now back up on SH1 and SH2. All that's left for us to do now is install and test some new software; there should be no further disruptions to service.
